An abridgement of the life of St. Anne of Jesus, schooler and companion of St. Teresia of Jesus, of the holy order of our Lady of mount Carmel, [1693].

Manuscript on paper, in a single cursive hand, of an English version of Manrique's biography of Sister Ana de Jesus, a companion of St. Teresa of Avila who also founded Carmelite convents in France and the Spanish Netherlands. Text includes two poems, identified by the translator as additions to the text: "With this our saint let us to Bethlem goe,/The stable and the manger let us find" (p. 65) and "Thomas a Kempis in thy sacred booke/To find out Jesus Christ the faithfull looke." (p. 67). Approbation of the Bishop of Anvers appears in French preceding the text.
